We are not talking about the WeedKiller … we are talking about a Round-Up of News … because we are so busy! (… Isn’t it funny how we call ourselves “we” when there is only one of “me” writing this thing? I guess it’s because I am overwhelmed with enough work for “we” …) Here is the news:
Mr.Jess went home … to his eternal home … this morning. I had a chance to visit him last night, to pray for him and Ms.Bev, and to give the family a good hug.
… was what the email read yesterday afternoon. Remember AuntOstrich? Well, she fell and broke her pelvis in two places. I know this post is short, but please keep our lovely Aunt Donna in your prayers.
Dad just said, "Praise Jesus … I can see only one of you … Not 2.". To those who may not understand, that means the surgery worked and Dad no longer has double vision."

What is, “What will Dad be when he gets out of recovery tonight and when he wakes up tomorrow?” At least, that is what Dr. Tall told Mom and me this evening after the eye surgery. Dr. Tall said the surgery went well, but that Dad would be in extreme pain tonight and especially tomorrow. Over the next few days, the swelling in his eye will go down and it will be more tolerable. (… I guess this is Dad’s way of getting out of preaching on Sunday … I hear the back-up speaker guy is pretty intense … )
“Mom Reunites with Nurse RubySlippers” read the headlines tonight at the TraumaCondo. That’s right, while Dad was under the knife with Dr. Tall, Mom and I went up to the TraumaCondo to see if we would run into any of our angels on earth. And we did!!! Check out the smiles on these two ladies.
This is OldSkool…but I thought is was appropriate for the day. (… Actually, it has nothing to do with today, but I love this blast from the past! … ) Dad goes under the knife this afternoon to begin the EyeRestoration process. Today at 3:00pm, the outpatient surgery will to “center” Dad’s left eye. That way, when he looks at you, he will be looking at you. We will let you know how the surgery goes later this evening.
Apparently, when I told you about Dad being a special guest, I forgot to tell you who the other special guests included. That’s some good company, Dad!
Two weeks ago was a very special day for our Metro\Nashville Emergency Communication Center … aka 911-Dispatch … which had their Employee Recognition Banquet. Can you guess who was one of the many guests of honor? Yep. He was.
Dad and Mom got to meet 911Angel … Pam Davis … who took the emergency call the day of the ViolentSilence. This 911Angel advised GA-1 to move Dad’s head so that he could breathe. I believe she was honored as employee of the year earlier.
