100% Update: No. Really. Can’t Believe It.

Yes. Really. Do Believe It! We actually have time this morning to pass on some information about Dad’s recovery. You remember, the 100% Recovery. You remember, the 100% Updates. Here it is:

  • Dad was released from the care of his orthopaedic doctor on Monday. His official last day of BodyBending physical therapy … is this Friday. According to this former MessedUpDude, “I have had a tremendous increase range of motion with my left arm over the last two months. I will have to continue therapy at home to maintain improvement.” You go, RecoveringDude!
  • On May 6 @ 3 pm, Dad will undergo surgery on left eye to “center” the eye … currently it is now what is considered crossed–as in, he cannot look to the left. Surgery is meant to center the eye and give Dad limited range of motion and hopefully help eliminate or reduce double vision. It should be about a 90 minute outpatient surgery.
  • On May 19 @11 am, Dad will undergo surgery to graft part of the nerve of his tongue (12th nerve) to the 7th nerve, which controls right side of his face. The goal is to improve facial tone, which should improve his speech. The nerve regenerates very slowly, so it might take up to a year to see any results. Surgery is 5-6 hours with an overnight stay in the hospital. He is also expected to have a gold weight inserted in his right eyelid so it will close. Who knows? After this surgery Dad may be able to taste his sight in one eye and see streets of gold in the other.

A Boy and His Dog

US, China, Japan

The United States is in the lead with number of hits/visits to G&G from the Top 25 Countries, followed by China and Japan. Iran (49 hits), Romania (29 hits), Guatemala (28 hits) and Thailand (23 hits) are bringing up the rear. I am sure that Iran would be a top country if there had been more posts here recently … but no luck.

Warning! Warning! Warning!

Do not open an email that says “Open Me! I am a false email from a stranger, although I look like I am being sent from your Grandma. I actually have a terrible worm virus attached to me. And when you open me, keep pressing forward, clicking on attachments, even when your VirusScan software tells you I am bad. Don’t listen to them. They are so negative. The bible talks about love. God is love. I love you. And I want to love all your computer files. I want to love them so much that I want to eat them … gobble gobble gobble …”

Just in case you get an email with the above, don’t open it. My daughter did and I have spent the last two days recreating our home computer and recovering 1000′s of pictures.

Just in case … don’t!

Before/After

We just returned from a week in NewOrleans … it was all business … no fun. Check out a couple Before/After pics:

Before
After

There Once …

… was a nice little lady who asked me, “How are you?” This little lady already knew how I was, since she had a way about her … as in … she knew how to read between the lines. Based upon my posting at G&G, she knew when things were good. She knew when things were bad. She knew when the kids were good. She knew when the kids were bad.

And based upon my lack of posting over the past week, she knew I was barely tredding water. She was a nice little lady. She was right. I’m busy. How about you?

That’s Not Right (#10)

That’s not right … a collection of stories, events, and incidents that are just … not right! This picture needs no explanation on why … THAT’S NOT RIGHT!

What Do You Call It?

Some call it Coincidence. We call it PerfectTiming. This is a photo of the sun going down during the last refrain from Hendel’s, The Messiah last night. Beautiful. And GooseBumps, too! Thanks choirs.

Stupid King

From the mind and hand of an eleven year old girl:

There once was a stupid King. He disappointed his Princess alot. The Princess thought he thought he had too much power. He was over protective. He could sometimes be careless. But the Princess loved him anyway.

One night, the King got mad and tried to take away the Princess’s pony. His mistake made the Princess very angry. She took her belongings and tried to leave, but the King stopped her. He left. He was gone for nights and days. The Princess cried herself to sleep every night he was gone. Finally, she went out to look for him and he was in his carriage outside the castle.

“I love you stupid King,” the Princess screamed.

“I love you,” the stupid King replied.

“I know you made mistakes, but I forgive you,” the Princess said.

The end.
